An important part of Hamburg Pride Week is the Dyke*March Hamburg on the 6th of August 2027, a demonstration for lesbian* visibility taking place on the eve of the Christopher Street Day.
The Dyke*March Hamburg 2027 brings together women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people who identify with the lesbian* and/or queer spectrum. Together, we take to the streets during Hamburg Pride and around CSD Hamburg 2027 to stand for visibility, self-determination and social change.
The Dyke*March Hamburg is an independent political demonstration traditionally held on the eve of CSD Hamburg. Its focus is on lesbian* visibility, feminist politics and the diversity of queer lives and experiences.
We understand ourselves as confident and visible Dykes*. Dykes* are women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people who identify with the lesbian and/or queer spectrum.
The asterisk (*) makes clear that people are welcome whose gender identity or physical characteristics do not correspond to traditional ideas of a binary woman.
The Dyke*March Hamburg 2027 is therefore an important part of Hamburg Pride and complements the larger CSD Hamburg demonstration with a particular focus on lesbian* and queer visibility.
Christopher Street Day Hamburg, commonly known as CSD Hamburg, is one of Germany’s major Pride events. Hamburg Pride 2027 provides space for demonstrations, political action, culture, exchange and celebration.
The DykeMarch is deliberately more than a party event. Like CSD Hamburg 2027, it combines visibility and celebration with political demands. We want to draw attention to the discrimination and exclusion that lesbian and queer people continue to experience.
Anyone searching for CSD Hamburg 2027, Hamburg Pride 2027, the CSD Hamburg program, the CSD Hamburg date, or events surrounding Christopher Street Day Hamburg will find the Dyke*March as an important part of Hamburg’s Pride Week.
Lesbian* Visibility at CSD Hamburg
Lesbian visibility is at the heart of our work. The term “Dyke” was originally used as a derogatory term. We have reclaimed it as a positive self-designation and understand both “Dyke” and “Lesbian” as political and identity-forming terms.
The Dyke*March Hamburg creates a space where lesbian* lives and experiences can be visible. At the same time, we want to highlight the diversity within the queer community.
Pride is diverse: people have different identities, backgrounds and experiences of discrimination. CSD Hamburg and the Dyke*March Hamburg provide an opportunity to bring this diversity into the streets together.
Intersectional Feminism and Pride
We are feminists and oppose inequalities and discrimination created by patriarchal and heteronormative structures.
We understand our feminism as intersectional. Dykes* can experience not only sexism and anti-queer discrimination, but also racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, classism, ableism and age discrimination.
That is why the Dyke*March Hamburg 2027 aims to make different perspectives visible. We see ourselves as constantly learning and want to provide a platform for Dykes* with different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences of discrimination.
Anti-Fascism and Political Responsibility
CSD Hamburg 2027 and the Hamburg Pride movement stand for diversity, solidarity and human rights. The Dyke*March Hamburg also understands itself as an anti-fascist demonstration.
We stand for a diverse, respectful and open-minded society and oppose authoritarian ideologies, exclusion, erasure, threats and the persecution of people.
We are non-partisan, non-commercial and work on a voluntary basis. Our activism is part of a Pride movement that is not only about celebrating, but also about creating social change.
CSD Hamburg 2027: Taking to the Streets Together
Hamburg Pride 2027 means visibility, solidarity, protest and community. CSD Hamburg 2027 reminds us that the rights of queer people were fought for and must continue to be defended.
